Urmston U17...2
EGERTON were only able to salvage a point in a highly entertaining game at home to Urmston on Sunday.
Egerton got off to a poor start and goalkeeper Connett was picking the ball out of his net in the opening minute after a dangerously placed free kick was stabbed into the net after a rebound.
Egerton then turned the game around in a scintillating five minute spell.
New penalty-taker Lee Edwards thrashed in the equaliser from the spot after a tug on Chris Hardman's shirt by the visiting goalkeeper.
Moments later a 20-yard strike from Jonathon Enston sent Egerton in 2-1 at half-time.
Urmston came out all guns blazing after the break, but were unable to fashion too many chances.
However, they did draw level half-way through the second period to set up an exciting finale.
Egerton were restricted to sporadic attacks as the visitors piled on more pressure without reward as good defending snuffed them out.
Egerton did have a handful of opportunities but in the end the draw was a fair result.
Lee Edwards was awarded man of the match for his performance.
