A CHEMIST van filled with potentially lethal drugs was stolen from outside a chemist on Guardian Street on Tuesday afternoon.
The White Citroen Berlingo van, containing blood pressure drugs, anti-inflammatory pills, painkillers antibiotics and inhalers was parked outside when a man jumped in it and sped off. The incident happened just before 1.15pm.
Police grew increasingly concerned regarding the whereabouts of the vehicle as it contained a considerable quantity of prescription drugs - which could prove dangerous if taken by the wrong person.
But a passer-by spotted the abandoned vehicle on Southworth Avenue in Bewsey later that afternoon. The offenders had escaped and all the drugs were still inside.
The van has since been returned to its owner.
