THE sky's the limit for a Latchford mum who took part in a parachute jump to thank the medics who saved her daughter's life.
Charlotte Boden is now a fit and healthy nine-year-old, but when she was born 10 weeks early by emergency Caesarean section, mum Vicky didn't know whether she would live or die.
Vicky suffered from pre-eclampsia toxaemia, a rare form of blood poisoning, six weeks into her pregnancy. She later experienced the same with her son, Luke, though doctors were sure it would not happen again, and he was born five weeks early.
"The children had to be born before the illness killed me or my baby," said Vicky. "I would love to have more children but I couldn't put another child through that."
Vicky decided to thank the staff in Warrington Hospital's Special Care Baby Unit for their help nine years ago by raising money for the ward. She completed a tandem skyride, raising £492 which she handed over this week. And to make the event more special, some of the nursing staff who were there at the time were there to receive the cash.
