WARRINGTON Wolves captain Allan Langer did not mince his words in the wake of the team's victory over Villeneuve.
He said simply: "We were dreadful."
Wolves coach Darryl Van de Velde found it easy to pick out the factor that let the side down.
He said: "It was complacency. The players did not give the opposition enough respect and we were going laterally before we were going forward."
He went on to pick further faults with the effort: "The first half performance was very flat. We turned over a lot of ball.
"They hung in and got in our way, they scrambled well although their shape was not good.
"That was a training run to be fair but it was sub-standard for this level.
"At the end of the day we are in the semi-finals which is what we set out to do but the performance could be perhaps best forgotten."
Van de Velde was pleased with some aspects and he highlighted them: "It was good that Gee-Gee and Huntey got games under their belts.
"There were a couple of good offloads from Kidwell but he is going to get better as the track gets drier - he gets a bit anchored in the wet."
Villeneuve player coach Grant Doorey felt a little hard one by that the scoreline was not closer and placed some of the blame on referee Robert Connolly.
He said: "Mr Connolly kept saying 'it's on my bad side', so I began to wonder which was his good side as he didn't seem to have one."
But the Aussie prop paid tribute to Warrington's famous half back pairing, who he feels are beginnign to connect.
Doorey said: "Alfie and Kevin looked like they shared their sides of the field out.
"They are looking like they are beginning to gel together and the more they gel the stronger Warrington are going to be."
