MORE jobs are to be lost at warehouse giant Christian Salvesen.
The company's Birchwood depot, in Leacroft Road, has announced a further 17 redundancies on top of 210 last summer.
Staff are devastated by the blow which, they have been told, is due to Safeway terminating its contract with the firm.
"It's like deja vu," said one employee, "it's exactly the same again.
"They say it's because they can't get the work in.
"We are really disgusted because they promised last time that if people stayed they would look after them. The staff are really down and miserable."
In a statement, Christian Salvesen said: "With regret, we have had to announce 17 redundancies at our Leacroft Road depot.
"Those who have volunteered for redundancy come from warehousing, administration and management, and will be leaving us from now until the middle of next month.
"The site employs 30 people and stores frozen food for a number of companies. Over the last six months, we have made every effort to win substantial new business for the site, but we have been unable to secure the volumes required.
"We are confident, however, that those employees who are leaving us will find suitable work in the Warrington area."
