Lymm RFC...19
West Park...13
LYMM toppled league-leaders West Park with an all-action performance on Saturday and secured a further two valuable league points.
One more win for West Park will secure promotion and with relegation still a possibility for Lymm both teams were all out for a win.
Millachip scooped up a loose ball, combined with Richard Hopkinson and Bower but failed to score.
Hopkinson scored all Lymm's points.
On the half hour Lymm lost their own line-out and leaked a try.
Hopkinson and Strett exchanged penalties to give Lymm a 9-8 half-time lead.
West Park were denied possession by the ferocity of the Lymm forwards and the tactical awareness of Nick Shaw brought the Lymm backs more into the game.
Hopkinson stretched the Lymm lead with a penalty and the match was evenly poised when a touch of magic by Chris Kinsey turned the result for Lymm.
The talented scrum half snatched up a ball from a scrum 10 metres out, accelerated across the West Park defence and put Hopkinson in between the posts.
After a try by West's big money signing G. Monoghan good defence survived a nail-biting finish.
Lymm's scheduled home game on Saturday against Penrith has been postponed in line with the foot-and-mouth disease restrictions.
