CHARITY patron Ann Winterton is to open a new extension to the headquarters of VISYON this week.
Mrs Winterton is MP for Congleton, and the opening will coincide with the expansion of the charity's work with young people.
VISYON is based at 43, West Street, Congleton, and provides practical support for young people with mental health problems.
A major grant from the National Lottery Charities Board has enabled the service to be extended to the whole of the borough and the 5,900 pupils at its high schools.
Services provided by the charity include counselling at school or its offices, after school club and drop in sessions during the evening.
VISYON is planning to offer an e-mail counselling service in the near future, an outreach worker for young men up to the age of 25, and further services to rural areas.
"VISYON is an exceptional and indispensable community service dedicated to improving the mental health and well being of young people," said charity spokesman Mike Sanders.
"It's a safe haven for young people experiencing a wide range of problems such as bullying, abuse, depression, self-harm and loneliness.''
The opening takes place next Friday, when the West Street offices will be open from 10am to 8pm. Everyone is welcome.
