NANTWICH Choral Society has a new president.
Keen pianist and former borough mayor, Cllr Chris Thorley was delighted to accept the honour.
After winning a Mozart piano competition at the age of 13, he has given recitals both at home and abroad and during his year of office, gave encouragement to many local musical groups.
"I'm delighted to be able to continue my support of local musicians," said Chris.
"I feel very honoured to be President of the Choral Society and will endeavour to promote its aims."
The society's next concert at St Mary's Church on Saturday, March 31, will see the choir give a rare performance of Avro Part's hauntingly beautiful Te Duem.
Tickets are available from the church shop or the box office on 01270 625001.
