A TATTOO and body piercing studio is to be opened in Wistaston despite reservations from residents.
The application for the empty unit at 42, Bramhall Road has been approved by Crewe and Nantwich Housing Committee.
The studio will form part of a block of seven shops including a butchers and hairdressers in the road but Wistaston Green Cllr, Barbara Bickerton, says nearby elderly residents are uncertain about the shop use.
"They feel it is not the appropriate place for that type of business. We have a lot of problems with youths hanging around the elderly residents' home and frightening old people so they are a bit nervous," she said.
"It may have to go before Planning Committee for change of use," added Cllr Bickerton.
The premises have been vacant for almost a year and officers felt the appearance of the parade would be enhanced through the application.
A report to the committee said: "Clearly the issues are finely balanced."
