PEOPLE are being urged to look at plans for the Lostock Triangle site - before an outline planning application is submitted to the council.

A public exhibition and meeting is being held next week at the village's community centre to make people aware of development proposals on the 17-hectare site, at the junction of the A556 and Manchester Road.

A development brief has already been given the green light by Vale Royal Borough Council, as the site is earmarked for business use in the Local Plan.

But following a meeting with Lostock Gralam Parish Council last week, Manchester-based architects Leach Rhodes Walker have revealed that proposals for the Triangle also include a hotel and a motel.

Parish and borough councillor Ann McEllin, said it was important that as many people as possible attend the exhibition.

"We want to encourage as many people as possible to go to the meeting, have a look at the outline plan and if they have any concerns tell the architects about them," she said.

One of the main areas of concern for the parish council is the traffic impact that such a large-scale development could have on the village.

Although the traffic consultant's assessment for the site has not yet been completed, councillors also fear that nearby residents could face continual disruption if some businesses are open 24 hours a day.

Clr McEllin added: "It isn't just the impact of that traffic in the immediate area that we are worried about, but also at the junctions of major roads coming into Northwich."

The public exhibition takes place next Tuesday, April 3, from 3pm to 8pm, at Lostock Gralam Community Centre, in Stubbs Lane.
