LITTLE Jack Bircham is at the heart of a big campaign.
The two-year-old, from Orford, has been diagnosed with retina blastoma - a rare type of eye cancer - and is being treated with as full a course of chemotherapy as is permissible for his young body.
If the treatment is not successful and his tumour grows, he will lose his eye. If it has not grown, his problems may still not be over, as new tumours can grow in either eye up until the age of five.
In a bid to highlight young Jack's plight, staff at RM Cable Trays Ltd in Birchwood have organised a fundraising night.
Planned for April 7 at Alford Hall, the night will include a fundraising buffet and raffle and a disco and comedian.
The event starts at 7.30pm and all proceeds raised will be given to cancer reasearch charities and the Retina Blastoma Society.
Tickets are priced £5.
Organisers are hoping for a lot of public support in providing prizes for the raffle and cash donations.
Anyone interested in supporting the cause can call Jane Range on 856810.
