AN American woman is searching for the English family she has never met.
Ruth Coffman, of Missouri, is the daughter of James Brinker, also known as Jim or Albert, who was stationed in England during the Second World War. He met Dorothy Smith, who worked at Rylands wire factory, and she later had a daughter, Ruth's half-sister.
Ruth said: "Daddy stated before he died of cancer in 1993, that he regretted the way he handled the situation. I don't think it is ever too late to tell someone you are sorry."
Ruth is also looking for information about her father's military history. He was a control tower operator with the 68th Complimentary Squadron and the 825th Engineering Air Service Squadron.
If you can help, write to Ruth at 230 8th Ave, W. Apt, 150 West Fargo, ND, or e-mail her at Coffmanruth@hotmail.com.
