A TEN-YEAR-OLD boy and his family could face eviction after residents on a housing estate submitted a petition to council officials.
More than 100 residents have added their names to the petition amid claims that the child has carried out a two-year reign of terror on the Blackbrook housing estate in Padgate.
Local councillor Albert Clemow said: "These are allegations made by residents that a 10-year-old boy is causing havoc and that the situation is getting worse.
"A copy of the petition was given to council leader John Gartside and myself.
"The residents have outlined specific incidents and the housing authority is investigating all the allegations. Residents are asking for the family to be removed but we are awaiting the result of the investigation to see whether the complaints can be substantiated.
"If the allegations are correct, then the child is causing a great deal of problems and something needs to be done but at the moment the complaints are only allegations."
Tom Roberts, the council's director of housing, said: "The issue has been drawn to our attention and we are looking at what options are available to provide a solution.
"We need to evaluate the extent of the problems and we are currently in discussion with various agencies to see what needs to be done to tackle the problem."
