FOUR Warrington East scouts and one leader are to experience a little Eastern promise when they travel to Thailand for a jamboree.
Andrew Davies, aged 14, of the 1st Culcheth troop, Nicholas Halford, aged 14, of the 1st Oughtrington scouts, Alistair Harwood, aged 13, of the 3rd Lymm group and Richard Taylor, aged 15, of the Hollins Green organisation were chosen from 15 applicants to attend the next World Scout Jamboree from December 28, 2002, to January 8, 2003.
Scout leader Jon Davies, of the 1st Birchwood troop, is one of the four leaders of the 36-strong Cheshire Unit.
Around 2,500 scouts will fly out from the UK to the Jamboree to meet 30,000 scouts from more than 180 countries at Sattahip, a stunning beach campsite on east coast of Thailand.
