IT might have tested the patience of health and safety officers but a blindfolded bowling night at LA Bowl was just the ticket for a blind society.
Teams of six bowlers donned the blindfolds to take part in the challenge, which raised a massive £3,300 for Vision Support, the Cheshire and North East Wales Society for the Blind. The event included sighted and visually impaired people alike, competing on equal terms.
Mark Roberts, charity spokesman, said: "Vision Support is very grateful to all the teams who took part on the night to raise this money and to the LA Bowl for staging the event for us. "Every single penny of the sponsorship will go towards providing a wide range of services to people with a visual impairment here in Cheshire."
