A FAULTY chimney flue caused an early morning fire at a Wrenbury house.
The incident happened at the house on Nantwich Road in Wrenbury, at 4am on the morning of Thursday, March 22.
Twelve firefighters tackled the blaze, which was contained in a small section of the loft, and smoke was seen billowing from the roof.
Cutting equipment was used to remove burnt sections of the ceiling and it was discovered the faulty chimney flue had caused the fire.
Householders are being urged to check the condition of their chimney brickwork, especially during the cold period as a result of the incident.
