AUSTRALIAN soap star Anne Charleston is to make an appearance at the Lyceum Theatre in Crewe.
Anne, who plays Madge in Neighbours, is appearing in a Middle Ground Theatre Production entitled 'Present Laughter'.
Written by Noel Coward, the show has been described as a lively peek at theatrical life including the love triangles, after show parties, shared silk dressing gowns and breakfasts at noon.
The show also stars Richard Walsh from TV's London's Burning, as temperamental actor Garry Essendine. Anne Charleston is Garry's long-suffering secretary and Brian Cant is his faithful valet, Fred.
Present Laughter is set in the 1940s and first appeared on stage in 1942 as part of Coward's play parade which toured the provinces as the war raged.
Garry Essendine has been played by such stage greats as Peter O'Toole and Donald Sinden in the past and theatre-goers are assured of a lavish set and some good laughs this time around.
The show is appearing from Tuesday, April 3, until Saturday, April 7, and tickets are priced between £5.50 and £13.50.
