LOVERS of Indian food helped raise money this week for a medical centre in Bangladesh.
Dr Ahsan Sowdager is hoping to raise £20,000 to provide the centre in his grandfather's village, a remote community with no doctor, nurse or dentist.
Dr Sowdager is doing his final GP training in the High Peak district after finishing training at Macclesfield Hospital.
Indian restaurant owner Anam Islam backed the appeal by holding a charity dinner at the Taste of Raj in Congleton, on Monday, which was supported by 45 diners.
