SWIMMERS from Warriors of Warrington continued their quest for medals in the Cheshire Championships on Saturday at Macclesfield Leisure Centre.
There were excellent personal best swims and 43 Warriors gained at least one top eight placing.
Twenty-two of those won one or more gold, silver or bronze medals.
Six Warriors won their events to become Cheshire age group champions and some of them gained national qualifying times. They were Jonathan Gatley (NQT), Laura Blyth, Kate Eccles (NQT), Helen Crookes, Nicholas Wilcox and Jenny Lowe.
Jenny's time of 2mins 26.74secs in the girls' 17 year and over 200m fly was also a national qualifying time and in addition won her the bronze medal in the women's 200m fly Cheshire senior championships.
Other Warriors to achieve national qualifying times were Sean Stirton and Vicky Johnson.
Six of the Warriors of Warrington swimmers who competed in the latest stage of the Cheshire Championships in Macclesfield at the weekend won shields and certificates for a top six placing in their age group for the overall Cheshire championships (British Age Group Categories) points total.
They were Laura Blyth, 5th, 10 year girls, 1332 points; Rachel Hillam, 5th, 14 year girls, 3172 points; Helen Crookes, 5th, 15 year girls, 3265 points; Anthony Walker, 6th, 10 year boys, 825 points; Joshua Robinson, 6th, 11 year boys, 1298 points; Jonathan Gatley, 5th, 12 year boys.
