I CAME over to Britain to play in a Challenge Cup final and win it - and we're not going to get a better chance than now.

We've been lucky with the draw in the early rounds, we've cruised through to the semi-finals and we have one big game to win before we get through to Twickenham. We have an opportunity and we don't want to let it slip by like we did in last year's semi-final.

Everything else is now on the back burner and the Challenge Cup is my main focus.

It is going to be pretty hard to beat Bradford but when we've got our full team on the field and we're playing well we can beat them.

We proved last year in the league we can do it. We know how to do it but it is a question of doing it on the given day.

Sunday against Salford was probably the worst of some disappointing performances. It was further disappointing for me on the day as I was captain of the team for the first time. The more the game went on the more I became frustrated but at least we have the chance this week to turn it round.

I think individually the players owe it to the club, our supporters and mainly ourselves to win on Sunday.

Even though everyone is criticising us, and much of it is warranted, I don't think we are that far off getting it right. In Rugby League it can seem as though you are a mile away when it is really only a matter of clicking on the day.

Obviously we missed Alf's leadership at the weekend as he guides the team around the field.

It has been embarrassing walking down the street this week with everyone asking 'What's going wrong?' But being 'bagged' often brings the best out of you and we have to forget about our poor start and make a fresh start this week.

On Sunday the game will be won in the forwards. Our six, basically, have to go on the field and 'give it to them'.

If a team stands back against Bradford and watches them for five minutes the game is over.

From the whistle we have to get stuck into them. Bradford's players are all big and I don't think they can handle the pace of the game. They like to play at their pace. But if we control the ball and run them round the park we can do well.

We need to start the game like we did at Wigan for the opening Super League game of the season.

And we have to treat the game very much as we did when we defeated Bradford at home last season. After that game Bradford complained about us 'giving it to them'. But they walk around doing it 28 weeks a year. I hope they expect it this weekend because we are certainly going to get stuck into them.

To win, our forwards will have to stand up to Bradford, rough them up a bit and not let them stand over us. If our forwards get over the top of their pack and we play well for 80 minutes, not 70 minutes, then we will win the game.
