TWO Warrington charities have received a welcome cash injection totalling almost £13,000 from the Lloyds TSB foundation.
The Prince's Trust has received £10,000 for the training of mentors and the Children's Adventure Farm Trust, which gives needy children fun filled breaks, has received £2,975 towards the salary of a part time cook.
All the cash given to the Prince's Trust will be invested in a mentors programme where trained volunteers who recognise the needs and difficulties faced by young people can give them support and advice.
John Heritage, regional fundraising manager for the Trust, said he was delighted to receive the investment, particularly as the Trust is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
He said: "The money will be used to assist the Prince's Trust volunteers' programme which works with offenders and ex-offenders.
"This is a personal development programme which helps them to re-engage and develop more skills to enhance their employment prospects."
Meanwhile, the Adventure Farm, which gives respite holidays to children who are underprivileged, terminally ill and disabled will benefit from a part time cook at the premises in Millington.
Julie Brinnard from the Trust said: "We are delighted with the award. Obviously, having an experienced chef means that we can provide all the children who stay with us with good quality wholesome meals prepared in the warehouse."
A multi-sensory play suite is also being built at the centre, thanks to a £100,000 grant from the Allied Dunbar foundation.
