I REFER to letters in last week's Guardian and in particular I would like to correct the statement made by Mr David Hatton who states, 'the developer never answered any of the residents' reservations and he stated that many local residents had been consulted during the planning stage which is untrue'. I have checked my statement to the planning committee and I have reproduced the relevant text as follows: - 'We have consulted and liaised with interested parties throughout the planning process. We have put out press statements, written to the Councillors and concerned members of the public, exhibited the plans in the Stockton Heath Library and even put up large information boards. We have always been prepared to listen to constructive criticism, alter the design where required or stand our ground if felt necessary.'
I trust that this puts the record straight.
