Warrington RUFC...32
Oldershaw...0
WITHOUT a number of key players Warrington started nervously against second from bottom Oldershaw.
For the first 20 minutes Warrington were let off the hook by Oldershaw's inability to kick penalties and by their transgressions at rucks and mauls.
Warrington then found their rhythm and continuity of pressure forced Oldershaw to concede a penalty, converted by Matt Drinkwater. Working through the forwards Warrington kept the play tight and were rewarded with short-range tries from hooker Lee Graham and prop Simon Taberham, both converted by Drinkwater.
A further Drinkwater penalty preceeded Taberham storming over for his second try. Drinkwater converted and, although Peter Holce was sin-binned for an innocuous tackle, full back Chris Myers completed Warrington's scoring with a try wide out.
With second place secure, Warrington must wait to find out who their opponents are in the promotion play-off.
Warrington Seconds won at Oldershaw 21-14 with tries from Phil Griffiths and Jez Louden converted by Chris Douglas.
