WARRINGTON Soccer League teams are facing the prospect of playing up to three matches per week until the end of May in order to complete their fixtures.

This is the result of the winter weather postponing many fixtures and the backlog being further compounded by poor weather last week curtailing the first series of midweek matches and some planned Saturday games.

Sidac Social enjoyed a successful week, picking up seven points from their three matches to close in on Organics Intermediates Premier Division leaders Owens Corning.

Sidac's Graham Mitchell grabbed four goals on Saturday as Crosfields surrendered a 2-1 lead to eventually lose 5-2. Percival and Saunders had put the visitors into a half-time lead, until Mitchell and Haughton turned the tide. Mitchell has now hit 41 goals in all competitions this term.

In the Rylands Cup, Ford Reserves gained a win after a penalty shoot-out at Moore United. Bennion and Jones had scored for Moore during regular time but the motormen forced extra-time and held their nerve to advance by four penalties to two.
