EDNA Naylor celebrated her 100th birthday with a party at the Old Rectory Nursing Home, Grappenhall, last week.
Friends and family attended her big day, and she also received a telegram from the Queen. Born Edna Mary Knowles in Stockton Heath, she enjoyed playing hockey, tennis and golf. Edna attended teacher training college in Crewe and taught at Oakwood Avenue School, where she met her husband Harold Naylor. The couple were married in July 1937, and continued living in Stockton Heath. Edna celebrated with family from Worcester and Yorkshire, and on Monday she was given a party which the mayor Sheila Woodyatt attended.
