STUDENTS Katy Barlow and Mathew Nicholson have been presented with an award for swimming.
The District Award For The Liverpool Branch of Royal Lifesaving was awarded to Katy, 19, and Mathew,18.
To gain the award each student took a practical exam, including rescues in the water, and on land, carrying out mouth to mouth resuscitation.
They also took a theory exam, and are now both nationally recognised as lifeguards.
Both trained for the award on Priestley College's lifesaving course, held on Wednesday afternoons at Warrington Baths.
Katy, of Warrington, attends Edgehill College, and Mathew is a Priestley student.
