ENERGY-saving appliances are being handed out to older people in Warrington as part of a nationwide scheme to help make their fuel go further.
Hundreds of older or low income tenants will benefit from the delivery of energy efficient fluorescent light bulbs and kettles from Grosvenor Housing Association, one of the partners in the ExtraCare Retirement Village.
Teams at Grosvenor's four care and repair agencies have been recruited to distribute 5,000 of the light bulbs and 800 kettles to tenants.
The initiative also aims to raise awareness about how modernised appliances can reduce energy consumption in the home, saving money and natural resources.
