CELEBRITIES will be descending on the new Brannigans bar in Warrington, kicking off with Chris Evans' lookalike Archie Look who will host the grand VIP opening on Thursday.
Then, the kings of 80s pop Go West will make a cameo in the town on Friday to mark another celebration of the bar's opening.
Sam Fox, Jason Donovan and a host of tribute bands will be playing at the bar on Friars Gate in coming weeks after licensing bosses gave the green light to final modifications to the scheme.
The bar boasts a restaurant and VIP suite on the second floor and has an occupancy of 1,300 and intends to cater for the over 25s.
Revellers can expect to see that the conversion of the former bingo hall has retained many of the theatrical qualities of the original building, creating a safe, hassle-free environment for older drinkers in the town with a drinks licence to 1am from Monday to Saturday.
Members of the committee voiced concern over controlling numbers at the door at the premises, particularly on Friday and Saturday night.
But they were assured 12 door supervisors, two of whom are female, equipped with 'clickers', would record people leaving and entering the premises and numbers would be checked every 15 minutes by management.
A total of 16 CCTV cameras have been set up to control security in the club, and council CCTV surveillance will monitor people leaving the premises.
