NINE-man Rylands FC lifted the Mid-Cheshire League Challenge Cup after a nail-biting penalty shoot-out.
Twenty five minutes into the second half Rylands broke the deadlock. Garry Owen floated a free kick into the box and Mark Wilson got the decisive touch ahead of the outrushing 'keeper.
Within a minute Poynton were level. Williams beat Selby by the touchline and when Rylands failed to clear Wayne Renshaw made no mistake from close range.
Rylands were reduced to 10 men minutes later when Selby was dismissed for a second cautionable offence but Rylands held firm to take the game into extra-time.
Chances in the extra period were few and after Beard produced a brilliant block to deny Smith Rylands were reduced to nine men when Taylor was dismissed for a rash challenge on the 'keeper.
In the penalty shoot-out, Matty Smith hit the bar with Poynton's first kick and Callaghan netted for Rylands. Beard then produced a great save to deny Ashwell and when Owen and Hamman converted for Rylands, Beard produced another fantastic save to block Peat's kick and complete a tremendous night for Rylands.
