NANTWICH Town look on course for a fine finish to a season of rebuilding.
Recent form has dispelled any relegation fears and boss Dave Cooke had every reason to be delighted with his young side's latest display at Jackson Avenue.
Despite going down 3-2, the Dabbers certainly made it hard work for title-favourites Rossendale United.
An upset was on the cards as early as 11 minutes as Griggs played a neat one-two with Jon Dawson and hit the back of the net to put Nantwich in front.
It was a blow that woke the league leaders who punished Town with three goals before half-time.
Heads never dropped and the Dabbers continued to play their football, earning them a lifeline on 85 minutes as Griggs picked out substitute Sterry who smashed the ball home, setting up a grandstand finish.
Rossendale hung on through late pressure.
"They were a little bit too strong for us, " said Cooke. "We did well against a side that could be in the Unibond, next season.
"Danny Griggs was the best player on the pitch and he's been man-of-the match in our last few games.
"A lot of the lads never stopped battling and we don't want to drop any lower than the 16th place we're in."
Nantwich entertain Ramsbottom United, this Saturday.
