JUST as it was starting to look like the Alex could forget about potential derby games for next season, the pressure cooker has once again started to boil.

Postponements and other results have certainly thrown Crewe back towards the relegation zone.

But despite a large backlog of games ahead, destiny is still in our own hands.

Boss Dario Gradi is all too aware that points need bagging ASAP.

"I don't know how teams like QPR and Sheffield Wednesday are down there but a couple of years ago Manchester City were and they went.

"I don't think there's a poor team in this league and it's been proven as no-one has really fallen away.

"QPR and Tranmere now look the most likely to go and have to start winning games. But that third place looks wide open, 45 points is certainly not enough and 48 might not be either. Norwich won't be happy yet and it's going to be an exciting end to the season. Let's hope it's not too exciting."

The Bolton postponement disappointed a lot of supporters but Gradi felt the decision was right.

"When I'll left the ground at 4.15pm it was unplayable which proved the referee had made the right decision.

"The worst case scenario would have been starting the game, making a mess of the pitch and having the game called off mid-way.

"It gave us a chance of getting Tuesday's game on."

With the form book now completely out of the window, Crewe's hectic Easter schedule and beyond, reads like this.

Away at Wolves on Easter Saturday, at home to Gillingham, two days later on Easter Monday and again at home to Bolton on Wednesday, April 18.

Mark Rivers looks set to miss at least the trip to Molineux although Dave Walton could return.

"Mark won't figure in the foreseeable future, he's got to get his strength back and it's going to take some time," added Gradi.
