YOUNGSTERS from First Friends Playgroup were having fun and clowning around at their Easter Fair at the weekend.
But unfortunately those high spirts may be dampened within the next few weeks.
A frantic search has begun to find a new home after the group was informed Crewe Green Church Hall was no longer available after April.
"We have received a letter from the parish council that the centre was no longer available after April 30," said First Friends treasurer Janine Duff.
"That just leaves us strapped. The parish council has been leasing the hall from the Duchy of Lancaster and is now handing it back.
"So along with the scouts and brownies, we will all lose our base. We have been trying to negotiate an extension to give us all time to find somewhere else but have heard nothing.
The dilemma was forgotten for a few hours as staff, parents and children made sure their Easter Fair was a fantastic occasion.
"It went really, really well," added Janine. "Everyone had a great time and raised around £460 for the group.
"We would usually use this to buy new equipment but with our future up in the air, we'll have to wait and see. We may use it towards renovating a new base."
No-one from the parish council was available for comment.
