Northwich U11...1
THEY say "save the best till last" and in Egerton's on-off promotion chase this was the case.
In the first-half they were simply awesome knocking the ball around confidently.
Straight from the whistle they dominated the game and it was no surprise when Roberts crossed from the right for Simcock to volley in off the post.
Poole hit the bar twice and everything in the garden was rosy.
But for all their domination Egerton couldn't add to their score before half-time.
In the second-half Northwich made a couple of substitutions and with Egerton only having 11 players, this seemed to help the home-side.
Egerton were now getting tired on a very heavy pitch, Stimpson and France, who had taken early knocks, were struggling to carry on and it was only a matter of time before Northwich equalised.
This they duly did with seven minutes left.
The away players' fans were distraught, but with almost the last kick of the game Simcock bagged the winner from a very tight angle after a scramble in the Northwich box.
This was no more than Egerton deserved and with two games left, who knows?
Man of the match Alex Poole.
