Warrington Wolves...36 Leeds Rhinos...6

WALKING Day came early at Wilderspool on Thursday as Warrington Wolves marched all over fellow defeated Challenge Cup semi-finalists Leeds Rhinos.

The Wolves were walking tries in for fun in the final quarter with centre Ian Sibbit the major beneficiary of sterling half back work by skipper Allan Langer and stand off Steve Georgallis.

Sibbit crashed over for his second hat-trick of the year to take his season's tally to seven and go level leading try scorer with Lee Briers, who missed the game on the back of his brother's funeral having been the day before.

Warrington, rock bottom of Super League after four straight losses, were hungry to get off the mark and always held the aces over Leeds in terms of enthusiasm and urgency.

After a scrappy opening period the Wolves took command with tries by Alan Hunte, Sibbit and David Kidwell, who was a substitute second rower, steering Darryl Van de Velde's men to a deserved 16-0 half-time lead.

Leeds had a five-minute purple patch when Iestyn Harris, returning from injury off the bench, added a bit of spark which led to a try for 18-year-old scrum half Rob Burrow. Harris' conversion made it 16-6.

But the Wolves were in no mood to let this game go and impressive Georgallis started the rout by dummying his way over before Sibbit completed his hat-trick and Toa Kohe-Love got in on the act too.

Rob Smyth kicked four goals from seven attempts, but one of his misses was wide off a post.
