A MIDDLEWICH pub is preparing to raise money for an 11-year-old boy who is recovering after an emergency operation to save his life.
Robert Moulton of Moss Drive, was diagnosed as having a brain tumour just over three weeks ago.
He was taken to the Walton Neurological Centre in Liverpool, to receive treatment and the tumour had to be removed during an eight-and-a-half hour operation on March 29.
Now staff at The Turnpike pub in Warmingham Lane, Cledford have organised a fund-raising afternoon for Robert, which will take place next Monday.
Robert's mum, Jacqui, said: "It's amazing what people have done for us throughout Robert's illness.
"I'd like to thank all the pupils and staff at Cledford Primary School and all of our friends and relatives who have helped us through this difficult time - without them we wouldn't have coped."
The exact cause of the tumour is not yet known but Robert, who is now recuperating at home, had suffered a severe migraine two months before he was diagnosed.
"They'll never be able to tell us if the tumour was connected to the migraine Robert suffered from," said Jacqui.
"We don't know whether it was cancer, the results from the biopsies should arrive next week and any further treatment will be decided upon when the results are known."
She added: "In himself, Robert is perfectly healthy, perhaps too healthy.
"After such an operation he should be taking things easy but I've got to keep him pinned down."
The fund-raising afternoon for Robert takes place at The Turnpike pub in Warmingham Lane, Cledford, next Monday, April 16. There will be a disco from 2pm until 4.30pm and admission to the event is £2.
