WINSFORD Carnival organisers are offering to cheer up the girls who were not crowned for the cancelled Byley Rose Fete by inviting them to their event instead.
The fete has been another casualty of the foot and mouth crisis meaning the Rose Queen and her attendants will miss out.
Carnival secretary Debbie Lewis said the topic came up at their last committee meeting and although they only usually invite visiting queens who have been crowned to join the parade or retinue they are making an exception.
She said: "There are going to be girls who are disappointed, but if we can brighten up their day for them so they don't feel they have totally missed out that is the important thing."
Organisers still need as many people as possible to get involved in any way they can for the event on Saturday, July 21.
