MARK Turnbull exacted revenge on Team Lighthouse team mate Neil Rothwell at the Merseyside LCA.
The Northwich rider completed the 10-mile time trial at Pulford in 21 minutes 27 seconds, two seconds ahead of Rothwell, and also took the scalp of Darren Worsdale, a cyclist with a 19-minute 10-mile time trial to his credit.
Meanwhile, Paul Kay, Weaver Valley's former national junior road race champion, warmed up for a season riding abroad by competing in the Manchester road race.
Two stages were held last Saturday on roads around Byley, starting with a two-mile time trial in which Kay finished in the top 20 of a field of 60 riders.
In the afternoon, Kay finished in the bunch over a 35-mile road stage before taking on the tough 60-mile circuit at Dove Holes.
Steve Hankey, of Warrington, won overall, with Kay finishing 21st in a satisfactory last race before he left for a season in Ghent, Belgium on Wednesday.
He will be riding for King's North International, and hopes to progress to a professional contract with a continental-based team.
