COCK O' Witton's hopes of taking the Mid Cheshire Sunday League Premier title suffered two heavy blows last week.
They lost both their mid-week home matches, firstly 4-2 to Broken Cross then worse was to follow when Pockets came away with a 6-3 victory.
It leaves them four points behind leaders Thatched Tavern, both with six games left to play, while Gate are in second, three points behind Thatch but having played one game more.
Townsend United face an agonising wait to see if they have won the Division One title. They have completed their 16 games, but Ilford Rovers will overtake them on goal difference if they win their two remaining matches, starting with a trip to third-placed promotion rivals Stanley Arms on Sunday.
Last Sunday, Ilford kept up their title chase with a 4-0 win against Beech Tree. Jackson scored twice, Cadman and Potts got the others.
Plough have finished their Division Two campaign on 41 points, but with six games left and 13 points adrift, Rifleman could still catch them.
Either way, Rifleman remain favourites to join them in Division One, being two points behind second placed Red Lion with four games in hand.
Five goals by Jason Jenkins helped Boar's Head to a 6-0 win at Angel which wrapped up the Division Three title for them. Russ Cope netted the other.
Rudheath SC clinched the runners-up spot.
