Northwich Vics 2 Kingstonian 1
VICS took another big step towards safety as they moved 11 points clear of their opponents, who occupy the third relegation spot in the Conference, on Tuesday.
Adie Mike gave Northwich the perfect start against a travel sick Ks, whose delayed journey up the M6 caused the kick-off to be put back 15 minutes.
A cross by Richard Norris found Mike at the far post and he nodded in to make it 1-0 after seven minutes.
Kingstonian settled into their surroundings and settled into their stride after going behind, to pull level in the 29th minute.
A long cross from the left found Lance Key in hesitant mode as he failed to come for the ball and Ronnie Green was at the far post to capitalise and head in.
Vics started to play more like the home side in the second half and they got the reward for their pressure with the winner 14 minutes from the end.
Sub Richard Mitchell was hauled down when clean through on goal and Mark Barnard stepped up to score Northwich's first penalty at the Drill Field this season.
They were living on their nerves at the end, however, as Green headed against the inside of the post in stoppage time.
Vics: Key, Bates, Barnard, Talbot, Robertson, Burke, Norris, Lewis (Mitchell 70), Blundell, Mike (Walling 87), Devlin.
