DOES your child have what it takes to be a model or an actor?
The opportunity to be come a star may not be as hard as it seems thanks to an agency which has brought fame to several youngsters from Northwich and Winsford
Eurokids is a casting and modelling agency which is exclusively for under 18s and is on the lookout for new talent.
One of the local success stories is young Daniel Lapworth, who is 11 months old and from Moulton.
He joined Eurokids last October and even at his tender age he has made money by doing work for Matalan and has been to castings for Halifax and Tesco adverts.
His mum Julia said: "I would recommend it to any parent, it gives the children a good start in life and any money he earns goes straight into a bank account.
"At the moment he is too young to know what is going on but I'm hoping when he gets older he will carry on doing this kind of work."
Hartford brothers James and Robert Clifford, who are 10 and six years old respectively, are on Eurokids' books and have been involved in productions for the big screen.
Robert appeared in Liam, a film from the pen of Cracker's creator Jimmy McGovern, while James made it to the auditions.
Mum Lynn said: "They had a great time. They really enjoyed themselves and they would love to have careers in acting."
Eurokids' Gill Hayes said: "Because we cast for TV and film we are not just after drop dead gorgeous looks, we are after all sorts of characters.
"We work with all major clients, people like Matalan, Littlewoods, Great Universal stores and we have also provided a lot of extras for television and film."
Drama training is not essential, particularly if youngsters are appearing as extras rather than having speaking parts.
Gill added: "We have just had some auditions for Emmerdale and they did have to have a bit of experience, but we run a drama workshop where we go through improvisation and script work.
"If anyone was to go to an audition we would make sure they were able to do it, from the workshop we run we can see exactly what standard the children are at.
"Some also attend drama and theatre classes, but you don't always have to have that experience.
"If you come to our group and you are confident, casting agencies will pick up on that."
Modelling and acting is also very rewarding financially, for just an hour's work they can pick up £25.
Parents who show an interest in Eurokids will receive an information pack which tells them everything they need to know.
Then they fill in an application form and include a few recent snapshots and the agency will take a look at the application and decide realistically whether the child is likely to receive enough work.
Their professional photographer will then take a selection of agency pictures which they then send out to clients and production companies with a brief profile.
Law states that children involved in this sort of work need to be licensed by the local education department, but Eurokids apply for this licence on the child's behalf.
However, there is a charge of £99 for the photographer, paperwork and full promotion of the children, but if all goes well the starlets could recoup this fee in no time.
