BOROUGH councillor Professor Barbara Mawer has received an Outstanding Career Award for her research work on vitamin D.
Clr Mawer was presented with the award by professor Tony Norman, from the University of Riverside, California, when she attended an international vitamin D workshop in Nashville, Tennessee.
At the moment, the Liberal Democrat councillor who represents the Grappenhall and Thelwall ward is working in the Department of Medicine at the University of Manchester, but she is looking forward to retiring in September.
"This will let me spend more time on my council duties and also see a little more of my six grandchildren," she said.
