STAR-STRUCK pupils at Bradshaw Lane Primary School put on an all-singing, all-dancing spectacular for staff and parents to celebrate the end of term.
Their concert, entitled Catch a Falling Popstar, was inspired by the TV series Popstars and saw children and teachers dressing up and belting out their favourite songs.
Teachers thought they would make the most of pupils' enthusiasm for the hit series and set up a Fame school after class for six weeks leading to the concert.
Children put on their best clothes and make up and sang songs starting with the Beatles in the 60s, then hits from the 70s and 80s, finishing with the S Club 7 favourite Reach for the Stars.
Nearly every child in the school took part in the event, with children playing violins, saxophones, trombones and guitars along to the music.
And teachers Dave Whimpenny, Jo Atherton, Karen Ward, Jenny Boyle and head teacher Steve Plant took to the stage to perform Hear'say's Pure and Simple.
Mr Plant said that the talent was astonishing and did wonders for the pupils' confidence, and he praised their hard work.
He said: "People were saying it was the best they have heard for 19 years. Every parent went home proud of their own child and stunned by the quality of the performance."
