WHEN it comes to Easter fun and frolics, Warrington is egg and shell-ders above the rest of the pack.
The town came to life in the run up to the holiday weekend as youngsters and adults across Warrington got into the spirit of Easter.
Businesses also got behind the town and its charities by holding fundraising events and making donations.
Mere Golf and Country Club held an Easter Egg appeal on behalf of the charity The Children's Adventure Farm Trust, which gives respite breaks for needy children in Warrington.
Members supported the appeal by donating dozens of eggs - and it proved to be a welcome pick-me-up for the farm, which has been hit by the foot-and-mouth outbreak.
The farm's Pippa Whatton said: "Obviously it is disappointing that we have not been able to let children come to the farm as usual but it is all the more exciting that we have an extra treat in store when things do finally return to normality.
"We are very grateful to Mere staff and members for thinking of us and supporting the charity."
The NCH shop in Cockhedge Shopping Centre also benefited from an Easter Egg fundraising campaign which saw Cedric the NCH Dragon putting in a guest appearance at the centre.
And thoughtful youngsters at Poole Park fundraised to buy elderly residents in Longford bulbs to grow as an Easter gift.
Pupils at St Bridget's Primary School in Blackbrook took part in a bonnet parade and an unmissable Easter bunny showed his face at Asda Birchwood.
