ONE of Warrington's Euro MPs is doing his bit in the international arena to fight animal testing following a flurry of letters from people in the town.
Labour MEP Brian Simpson said: "I have received a great number of letters from people in Warrington recently regarding animal testing for cosmetic purposes. Without exception all of them oppose testing on animals.
"The European Parliament meeting in Strasbourg recently debated this issue and called for a ban on all cosmetic products within the EU where testing on animals took place in producing such a product.
"Regarding animal welfare, I have a strong view. I oppose testing on animals for cosmetic purposes. I oppose whaling and seal culling and I certainly oppose fox hunting.
"I take my role as president of the Warrington RSPCA very seriously indeed, which is why I was very happy to vote in favour of the animal testing products ban."
