A HAULAGE depot in Warrington is being wound up at a cost of 11 jobs.
FB Atkins, which is based in Derby but has had a depot on Barleycastle Trading Estate in Appleton for 16 years, is winding up operations because of the rocketing costs of fuel.
The company has seven depots across the country and its closure has resulted in 140 employees losing their jobs.
The Appleton depot was made up of seven drivers and four administration staff.
According to the company's representative Jeremy Davidson, all the drivers have taken voluntary redundancy in consultation with union representatives and a job location service was offered to others.
