A THOUSAND yellow ducks descended on Lymm Dam on Easter Monday as crowds gathered for the village's annual duck race.
Hundreds of people packed out the beauty spot to cheer their plastic friends across the water after they were released at midday.
Firefighters blasted the ducks off the starting line and organisers floated alongside them in a canoe and an inflatable dinghy to fish them out of the undergrowth and encourage them to make it across the water.
The event raised money from tickets sales, support from local businesses and sponsorship from David Wilson Homes, and all proceeds will be given to the Warrington and Widnes Blind Society.
The lucky punter whose duck was first past the finishing line won £100, and plenty more cash prizes and giveaways were dished out on the day.
