James Irlam and Sons Ltd - recently named as one of the fastest growing businesses in the North West - has just bought a site off junction 15 of the M6 to build a new depot.
"We have achieved this growth despite a national shortage of drivers, a fuel crisis and widespread changes in the industry," said managing director David Irlam.
The company's turnover has increased from £1m in 1980 to more than £40m.
The new Staffordshire depot will house 50 trucks which will have instant access to the M6 and other major roads.
"It will mean trucks can get off the rural routes and cut out much unnecessary travel through the region," said Mr Irlam.
Chelford will remain the HQ for the business that currently employs 550 workers nationally.
And a further 100 trailers have been commissioned to increase the current fleet in Chelford.
"We only expand if it is right, and we are growing because it is right for the company," said Mr Irlam.
"We simply try to fill the gaps in with the right sort of business."
