There were no television cameras or press at the event, but there should have been.
The tapestry, which has taken three years to complete with 3,000 people helping to create it, is a work of art, and one of which Knutsford should be extremely proud.
One could spend hours looking at it - it is really beautiful.
I hope that my great-great-grandchildren will want to come and see it and wonder which few stitches were put in by their great-great-grandmother.
I think it could make Knutsford nearly as famous as Bayeux.
We are assured that by the end of this year we will have a new library in the centre of the town.
Whatever its design, the library should be the perfect spot to show it to the world.
