I quite agree we would not win any competitions.
In fact, I would go so far as to say that the Moor, our streets, and other areas are a terrible disgrace.
We have a beautiful town full of character, teeming with wildlife and beauty and it is totally destroyed by some of the community.
The flooding to the pathway next to the Moor pool has not been successfully dealt with. Only part of the path has been renewed, the ground next to the path is a disgrace and the other paths on the Moor are often under water in certain places. One of the very few inadequate bins is now well away from the path and surrounded by mud. We need bigger, windproof and vandal-proof bins and a lot more of them.
The soil and rubbish pushed into the pool during the reconstruction of the path has not been cleaned and I noticed, when it was a little warmer the other day, that it smelt.
So what will it be like in the summer?
There is broken glass everywhere and dog dirt left all over the place.
Come Sunday on the Moor and you can see youths urinating by the railings.
Somebody stopped a neighbour from walking under the railway bridge the other day because these boys now have a game. As you walk under the bridge they urinate on your head. What kind of people do we have as neighbours?
Then there are the lovely trees planted with hooligans take delight in snapping in half.
Perhaps if people were fined for dropping litter and schoolchildren were made to clear up litter as a form of detention, then they might think twice before they litter the place.
We have a haven here in Knutsford, why can't we treat it as such?
