WINSFORD Shopping Centre has come into new ownership as part of a multi-million pound deal.

Manchester-based Modus properties acquired the centre on March 30 after taking over shopping centre owners Grainger Trust's commercial portfolio in a deal valued at £27.5 million.

Modus say they are planning to significantly expand the centre over the next three years, adding to work already started by the Grainger Trust.

Modus Managing Director, Brendan Flood said: "This is an excellent opportunity for us.

"The properties are in traditionally dominant retail locations with good expansion potential."

Modus also acquired a retail parade in Stafford and offices in Rochdale, along with Winsford's 80 units, totalling over 21,376 square metres in size.
